A sender is the email account your site sends from. Add one before sending emails to users or receiving order alerts.
Your site sends email through an account you already own. XFORG supports two kinds: Gmail and Outlook.
Senders are under System Configuration, then Email, on the Senders tab.
1
Open the form
On the Senders tab, click Add email sender.
2
Choose the Email type
Gmail or Outlook.
3
Name it
Enter a Unique name so you can recognise it later.
4
Enter the account
Type the Email address and its Password, then create the sender.
The password is stored encrypted. If your email provider asks for an app password for third-party apps, use that instead of your normal sign-in password.
Your site sends some emails on its own: the welcome email for new administrators, administrator password resets, and paid order alerts. These go out from the sender marked as System Favorite.
If no active sender is marked as favorite, the first active sender is used.
With no active sender at all, those emails cannot be sent. Add a sender early.
The Senders table lists each sender's name, email, email type, creation date and status.
Update email changes the address.
Edit password replaces the stored password, for example after you change it with your provider.
Deactivate stops a sender from being used without deleting it.
